52nd Klamath Salmon Festival

Plan to see the Yurok Tribe’s annual Klamath Salmon Festival at 190 Klamath Blvd, Klamath CA. Events include Native American dances, parade, arts and crafts booths, skill demonstrations, open pit salmon bar‑b‑que and more.

The Festival starts with an 8:00AM Veteran’s breakfast (free for veterans), held at the Klamath Community Center on Salmon Blvd.

For those who prefer exercise, 8:00AM will be the beginning of the 3rd Annual Ney’ Puey 5K Run.  If you want to run, sign up begins at 7:00AM.

After breakfast,there will be a a parade, followed at 11:00AM by serving of delicious salmon, cooked in a traditional Yurok way.

This is a free, family-friendly festival.  Visitors enjoy watching highly competitive Stick Game Tournament, a heavy equipment rodeo, and an Indian Card Games Tournament.

The Stick Game is played by all local tribes and is a full-contact sport, resembling lacrosse with a wrestling element.  The game is loaded with action.

The heavy equipment rodeo is for those who enjoy running, or watching, heavy machinery perform technical tasks.  The rodeo involves timed-challenges completed on loaders and skid steers.  If you want to sign up, you can sign up in advance or at the event. 

There will be various contests throughout the day, kids’ activities and vendors.
